My thoughts on strictly week 3
Montell and Jo Jo - Tango
Very dramatic, nice kick. She needed to stretch the neck more, but the frame was nice, now the body position needs work. I liked the routine but I felt she was a bit nervous tonight.
Toyah and Neil - Samba
I saw correct footwork on Volta’s. She kept the timing well but not the rhythm (Then how do you create bounce with music that has no bounce.)
Chris and Dianne - Jive
Loving his flicks and swivels. So much content in that routine. His timing was spot on and though there was a few places where the heel should have gone down. For the some part the technique was brilliant. Love it.
Tasha and Aljaz- Rumba
Beautiful routine. I love this routine. There were places where the feel left the floor. Her arms where amazing and her body extension was lovely, she just needs to the learn to use the hips. Timing amazing but then she is a trying commercial style dancer.
Paul and Karen - Cha cha cha
There is a big improvement this week and timing was good. He was actually better dancing the figures than walking in this routine.
Time step, Cuban breaks, walks and locks. I felt the routine had more contact this week.
Sarah and Vito - Viennese Waltz
Lovely frame and excellent spins. Timing and musicality was lovely both in and out of hold. I could see the feet to comment of footwork but she needs to work on boy flight. I love the routine
Pete and Jowita - Samba
Don’t think the bare feet helped he needed at least foot undies on. Lots of hip action but a bit out of control, not much bounce though. It was out of time in places, which may have been cause but the bare feet sticking to the floor, though he has improved.
JB and Amy - American Smooth.
Nice opening. Good footwork on the shadow feather step at the start. Loved the characterisation. Timing and changes of rhythm was great.
Sam and Nakita - Paso Doble
She needs to learn to use her ankles as well as bend the knees, so her legs don’t look so heavy. Here balance was great and it was full on energy.
Shane and Nancy - Viennese Waltz
Nice frame and transition in and out of hold. For the most the footwork was good. It was very stylish and had lovely musicality.
Winners and Katya - Cha cha cha
I felt he was working too hard to get the character instead of the dance. But on saying that it was really good, Loved the musicality, timing and storytelling.
Punam and Gorka - couple choice
Nice musicality, good hip lifts, lovely Dhinka Chika swag and great Ek Pal Ka Jeena. Very authentic Bollywood routine loved it.
Jamie and Michelle- Quickstep
To jumpy on quarter turns. His hold was quite good but his core did not maintain contact. His timing was good and footwork very good
My favourites
Tasha and Aljaz
JB and Amy
Weakest dancer Toyha
