Sorry about last week but we where away and the place we stayed in did not have TV or internet

Strictly week 6

Lewis and Katya

I loved the playfulness of the routine. His hold and frame is really good and partner skills lovely. The rhythm and timing was spot-on. Great scatter chassis and pendulums love this dance.

Karen and Carlos

The steps are a little placed due to her balance. Some nice basic choreography. She now needs to work on the turnout on the Delayed Rumba Walks though the legs were beautifully straight.

Ellie and Vito

Lovely back brakes and Cucaracha. As usual Ellie’s armology is fantastic. Great rhythm and timing, loved the lifts and her energy.  If I was teaching her I would say she needs to not search for Vito when there not looking at each other.

Alex and Johannes

I didn’t see the need for practice hold, at the beginning but when in Ballroom hold she’s got quite a lovely frame. Lots of gaping, I’m afraid, but the foot footwork on the whole was very good. Lovely rhythm and timing.

George and Alexis

Great rhythm, but the timing was out a little.

The foot speed was great, but I would have liked a little more strength pump action of the kicks and flicks.

I found the choreography a bit twee and there was a lot of mistakes.  He needs to work on stamina.

Vicky and Kai

The synchronisation throughout was brilliant.

I loved all the rhythm changes and she executed them very well. That was a difficult routine and she preformed it with real energy.

Bevinder and Julian

I didn’t think the solo start didn’t work for me.

When in hold she was being out danced by Julian ( as in he wasn’t working with her not her fault) This made her look like she was being dragged. The parts in solo were great.  Now she needs to work on hold and frame and Julian needs to work on his leg tracking.

Harry and Karen

Argentine is about reaction and this felt very placed. I did not like the music or the choreography for this number which is not his fault.  The vibe of Usher did not go with this dance style but he danced the figures quite well and did not go wrong. He was in time best he could be and he followed a rhythm throughout even if that rhythm for me was not Argentine.

Amber and Nikita

Not enough cha-cha figures for me and the style was very modern and very European not Cuban in anyway.  She needs to use less ballet turnout and more Latin turnout with her weight need to be forwards then we would see the legs straighten. Her timing and rhythm is wonderful and she performed this routine beautifully.

Jimmy and Lauren

Each of Jimmy’s steps were taken from the top of his hip instead of from his core and this meant it looked stilted and stepped in places but the timing and the rhythm was lovely and his footwork was quite good and his frame was great.  He needs to work on controlling his core as a dancer does which is different than a footballer so it’s understand that difference.  Loved the music.

La Voix and Aljaz

Out of hold was good but there was no light and shade. I felt it was all to rushed, I would have liked to see the slows in the rhythm. It was full of energy, I liked the performance but their body was too stiff for salsa, I think if the came down in the heel hight a little this would help.
